Connect + Elevate is Nova’s new signature monthly gathering in DMV, created for women and non-binary seasoned professionals who want meaningful connection, thoughtful conversation, and growth that actually feels aligned with their lives. We begin with guided connection around our theme of the month — not icebreakers, but intentional dialogue that moves purposefully into real conversation. The structure is designed to help you meet people you are so excited to know, without forcing performance or small talk.

You’ll leave this portion with a sense of who’s in the room and who you want to continue the conversation with outside the room.

APRIL’S THEME: Equity in Action

Equity begins with awareness and grows through commitment. This month is about looking at how fairness and inclusion take shape in our daily choices — in our workplaces, partnerships, and communities. Together, we’ll explore how to create conditions where everyone’s voice matters and every contribution counts.

ELEVATE
In the second half, a Nova member leads a short, live workshop rooted in lived experience. These sessions are practical, relevant, and grounded — offering insight you can apply immediately.

Topics vary month to month and include leadership, money, visibility, communication, wellbeing, or sustainable success. Each workshop is designed to elevate both the member leading and the collective intelligence of the room.

Leading from Your Inner Boardroom

In our professional and personal lives, many different “parts” of us show up—our inner critic, our protector, our visionary, our caretaker. What if practicing equity started within?

At this Connect & Elevate Constellation Event hosted by The Nova Global, Hannah Shahabi, LPC, NCC and owner of Resilient Futures Counseling will introduce the concept of the “Inner Boardroom,” inspired by principles from Internal Family Systems. This reflective framework helps professionals explore the internal dialogue and parts of themselves that influence how they lead, communicate, and make decisions.

In this interactive session, Hannah will guide participants through recognizing which parts of themselves show up most often—and how practicing equity among those parts can shift the way we show up with others. Together, we’ll explore the difference between equity, equality, and balance, and how small daily practices can help us embody equity in meaningful ways.

You’ll walk away with:

• Greater awareness of how internal dynamics shape the way you lead and collaborate
