The Nova Constellation Luminary Local Chapter Leader — Part-Time Community Leadership Role
What is a Constellation Luminary?
A Constellation Luminary is the local steward of The Nova in her city. You’re not building something from scratch — you’re stepping into an established model with real infrastructure behind it, so you can focus on what actually matters: showing up consistently, cultivating genuine connection, and making the women in your chapter feel like they’ve finally found their people.
Nova HQ handles the systems, templates, and frameworks. Your job is to bring the room to life.
About The Nova
The Nova Global is a membership community and leadership ecosystem for women founders, executives, and culture-shaping leaders. Through local in-person chapters, a global virtual community, and leadership development experiences, we create the conditions for real relationships to form — the kind that expand what women believe is possible for themselves and their work.
We call it permission through proximity. Your people are here.
What Makes Nova Different
Most professional communities for women were built on the same foundations as the spaces that came before them — performance-driven, achievement-focused, and quietly asking women to lead like someone else. Even the ones designed for women often reward hustle over depth, visibility over authenticity, and output over wholeness. They’re networking dressed up in a different outfit.
Nova was built from a different premise entirely. We believe women lead better, build better, and grow faster when they’re in rooms that encourage them to bring all of who they are — not just their credentials or their highlight reel. Depth is not a nice-to-have here. It’s the point. Real relationships, honest conversations, and the kind of support that actually moves the needle — that’s what Nova is designed to create.
When women stop performing for the room and start belonging to it, everything changes.
That’s what a Luminary makes possible in her city.
Where is The Nova Currently Expanding?
Our vision is a Nova chapter in every major city in the US and expanding internationally. We currently have active Constellations in Denver, Boulder, Phoenix, Greater NYC, NW Chicagoland, DMV, North Boston, East Bay, and Virginia Beach and we’re growing. Whether you’re launching a new chapter or stepping into one already formed, you’ll have full support from Nova HQ from day one.
We recommend a 2-month launch window followed by a 90-day ramp-up to get grounded in our tools, systems, and community rhythm.
Who We Serve
Nova is built for women who have already built something meaningful and are looking for a room that matches where they are and expands what’s possible from here — founders, executives, senior leaders, and culture-shapers who want their growth to be rooted in real relationships rather than performative networking. We call them “unboxed women”. They’re professionally ambitious and want success that doesn’t cost them their wellbeing, relationships, or sense of self. They’re done with spaces that ask them to shrink, compete, or leave parts of themselves at the door. They’re looking for depth, genuine connection, and a community that rises with them.
Who Makes a Great Constellation Luminary?
This role is ideal for someone who is a natural community builder with an established local network and genuine relationships already rooted in her city. She’s experienced in holding space for groups — whether through facilitation, leadership, or simply being the kind of person rooms naturally form around. She’s established in her own work or business, so she leads from a place of groundedness rather than hustle. She loves gathering people, values depth over performance, and feels energized by consistency and rhythm. She wants to contribute to something larger than herself and understands that the health of a room starts with the person holding it.
What Sets a Constellation Up for Success
Before a chapter launches, Nova home office, our founder Melissa and other luminaries work with you to put the right foundation in place. The Luminaries who thrive come in with a small leadership Council of three women already identified, one to two local partnerships secured for consistent event hosting, and a network ready to rally around a launch. From there, hosting two events a month on a predictable schedule for the full first year is what allows real community to form — relationships deepen when women know exactly when and where to show up.
The goal in the first few weeks after launch is to welcome ten founding members into the chapter. That number creates enough energy, diversity, and momentum for the room to truly come alive.
And you won’t be figuring any of it out alone. Before your first event, Nova HQ sets up all of your tech, your local chapter website, and your dedicated space inside Circle, our community platform. All automations are built and running before you launch. You’re connected to a sister chapter for ongoing peer support from a fellow Luminary who understands exactly what you’re navigating. A Member Concierge is available to support your members directly. And Nova runs the full virtual programming — Soul Calls, workshops, connection circles — so your members are plugged into a thriving global community from day one.
A team, a venue, a consistent rhythm, and a full support system behind you. That’s the formula.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
As a Luminary, your time commitment is approximately 10 ish hours per month and includes:
What’s Already Built for You
Before you host your first event, Nova has already done the heavy lifting. As a Luminary you receive access to our:
You bring the heart and presence. We hold the structure.
Compensation
This is a revenue-sharing leadership role, not a volunteer position. Luminaries earn a commission on membership revenue from members in their local Constellation — so as your chapter grows, your income grows with it. Annual memberships are commissioned at the same rate when received. Luminaries also earn additional commission for each member they personally refer into The Orbit, Nova’s leadership mastermind or other chapters.
Details of the revenue-sharing structure are shared during the application process.
What You Receive
As a Luminary you receive a complimentary Nova membership for the duration of your role, complimentary access to The Orbit mastermind, access to all virtual programming, workshops, and recordings, access to Nova retreats including the annual SuperNova gathering, leadership development and facilitation support, and visibility within a national values-driven network.
