What’s one thing you want others to know about who you are? I feel like all of the Golden Girls wrapped into one! I am a semi-retired sovereign soul paving my own unique path, embracing the wisdom of my years yet insatiably curious to learn and grow. I have worked hard both professionally and personally to arrive at this place that feels easy and natural, where free-will and choice prevail, where I can be active and playful and return to what feels right and good in my body. A place where family, friendship and community are paramount but so is solitude, intention and thoughtfulness. It’s a time to be open, to receive, to be bold and courageous, to seek adventure and to also just be still. I first do what feeds my soul, then what feeds my pocketbook. It’s a great place to be!
What’s one thing you want others to know about what you do (consider what sets you apart)? After a 35+ year career in tech, burnt out on balancing motherhood and career, resulting in no time for me, I stepped away from the rat race to un-become all of the things that were exhausting me. It’s been a 5+ year journey of learning who I am and what brings me joy. I DO work, but now only on MY terms. I consult on assignments that meet my sweet spot; things I am good at, things I enjoy and making a difference, primarily in a fractional COO type capacity. The relationships I have cultivated over the years are providing engagements to choose from and a path to career and life fulfillment…prioritizing travel, golf, work outs, hikes, dance and being a doting grandma (Nonna)!
Embrace your Nova essence – describe how you embody the spirit of a Nova. A Nova (noun): Like a radiant star, you illuminate the path with your unapologetic authenticity, inspiring others to join in our shared vision of empowerment, values-driven living, and purposeful pursuit of a life filled with meaning.
Being a Nova is where sovereignty can flourish. It means living life authentically, making choices that align with my values, and embracing my autonomy and agency. Having a sense of personal empowerment and self-assurance and being less concerned about societal expectations and more focused on living life on my terms. Nova provides opportunities to mentor younger generations, sharing wisdom and life experiences to help guide and inspire others, showing how to navigate changes with resilience and adaptability. I also learn so much from the women of Nova and enjoy listening to individual stories of challenge and triumph!
Envision the impact you aspire to make in your life and business. How are you harnessing the collective support of community to manifest your goals? I aspire simply to embody and role-model what a life well-lived can look like, whether for my children or other women in my life…and maybe even some men! How with equal parts planning and surrender, a beautiful life can unfold. Knowing that struggles and hardships of the past build our character for the future. There is such expansiveness in community and I endeavor to both contribute to and benefit from that.
Reflecting on your time with The Nova, could you share a memorable experience or achievement that has had a meaningful impact on you personally or professionally?Nova allows me to show up who I am on any given day. Whatever feels right in that moment and with whomever is present. I take what is meant for me and leave what is not, but there is always something that or someone who is additive to my experience. I am always inspired by and excited for the fact that the ‘Nova way of being’ is encouraged and celebrated, especially having not felt that in my own early career and motherhood. I am delighted to see so many women getting to show their softer side of being a badass!
